My entire young life I have seen the central and southern part of Claifornia, as well as the northern part of Oregon take advantage and abuse the very thing that sustains them: farmers and water. We have no voice and we have no future unless this state becomes a reality. After this recent election, it is safe to say that California is lost for good. I will make it my mission to see this wonderful region gain statehood within my lifetime, so help me God! Sounds like this is going to be fun!

Though I am only 20, I feel strongly that any government governing a large area will cause problems. Just like larger companies have to have excessive policies. Our government should be small and local, in order to best tailor its self to the local people, way of life and unique needs of the area at hand.

I want Jefferson to become a State so bad!  Just think:  We would have Lassen, Shasta, Burney Falls, Eagle Lake, Goose Lake, the entire Klamath area, The Emerald Triangle (marijuana!), Mendocino wineries, Breweries from Mendocino and Chico, Redding's sundial bridge, Avenue of the Giants and other Redwood forests, Northern Central Valley farms, Rogue River, Crater Lake, Diamond Lake, Union Creek (Beckie's Pies!), Beautiful Coast, Coos Bay area (the jetty with sea life below the light house), Medford area (Costco, Walmart, Big R), and so much more with out bureaucrats from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Eugine, Portland, or Salem!  We could have the best hunting and fishing laws in the country, we could lift the tobacco ban and let landlords and employers CHOOSE whether or not they want people smoking in bars, restaurants, and workplaces, everyone could pump their own gas, None of the liquor stores will be state owned, marijuana will be legal in counties that want it (much like wet and dry counties for alcohol), let landlords and employers CHOOSE if people can smoke marijuana in bars and restaurants, Texas-style business laws, and of course the loosest gun laws!  This needs to happen!  a right leaning libertarian state on the west coast!  Perfect land and perfect laws!  We can steal imports from California, Oregon, and Washington because we would be more business friendly than the liberals!  Absolute minimum amount of Bureaucrats!  I've taken camping trips in Jefferson and it is the most beautiful place ever.  If we are successful, I plan on living in Jefferson.

First visit to Jefferson was in 1973 and four years ago was finally able to make it my home. Beautiful place to be. As Thomas Jefferson said, "That which governs least, governs best," and I hope one day to see a simple, efficient and small government recognizing every sovereign individual in Jefferson.

We need to find a way to allow politicians in Salem and Sacramento to realize that they would be better off without us -- THAT is the only way to get them to go along with the independence of Jefferson. It has to be a win-win-win for all three states.

The recent tax law signed by Gov Brown regarding the Internet tax has caused me a loss of income. Amazon cancelled my contract to advertise on my websites. Over 20,000 website owners have be affected in California alone. It's a terrible loss of money to the state's economy. Enough is enough! I am all for a Jefferson State.
