In establishing a border patrol for the State of Jefferson, the men of Yreka have come up with an idea that may launch a thousand politicians – into the shakes.

That grim looking crew that started out to distribute propaganda at the city limits yesterday to incoming and outgoing "furriners" set up reverberations that we hope will extend from boundary to boundary of the 49^th State.

Let all true patriots rally around in all towns near the borders of our new state and do likewise. Set aside a day or a night a week and pass out handbills to every motorist setting forth our beef with the States of California and Oregon, and why we propose to secede.

The drums (of publicity) are rolling! To horse, men!
